THE QUAD COUNCIL OF PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING ORGANIZATIONS
The Quad Council of Public Health Nursing Organizations (Quad Council) includes nursing organizations, or organizations which have as a segment of their organization, a clearly defined sub-unit in promoting public health/community health nursing. Current member organizations are: the Association of State and Territorial Directors of Nursing (ASTDN), the American Nurses Association Council on Nursing Practice and Economics (ANA), the Association of Community Health Nursing Educators (ACHNE), and the Section of Public Health Nursing of the American Public Health Association (APHA).

The purposes of the Quad Council are:
- To provide regular meetings for exchange of information about current and projected activities in each organization.
- To provide a forum for developing ideas about issues and the education of nurses relevant to the practice of public health nursing.
- To stimulate synergistic interactions promoting public health nursing and the health of the public through collaboration that builds on the strengths of the participating organizations.
- To promote collaboration in the programs and activities of the participating organizations by leaders and members of each organization.
- To identify public health nurse experts to represent public health nursing on national and other committees concerned with public health and the education of nurses and to nominate for said positions.
